The Miss World Controversy

November 4, 2010 by Mr. Allen 5 Comments

I don’t understand this.  There has been all sorts of accusation that Miss Norway did not win Miss World in China because of the political rancors that have been raised since the recent Nobel fiasco.

Well – here are a picture of the two ladies side by side.

And – to be truthful, both are, by any standard, stunning-looking women.  But how can anyone say that Ms. Mills winning is evidence that the contest was rigged? Come on now… Sure, Miss World is not just about looks, but from what I have read and seen of Ms. Mills, she’s all-around a sweet and attractive person. I say: stop politicizing what is a commendable achievement for Ms. Mills. Give credit where credit is due.

Of these two women, who would you vote for to be Miss World?

Alexandria Mills (U.S.) vs. Mariann Birkedal (Norway) - Who would you vote to be Miss World?

I am casting my vote for Ms. Mills all the way from Japan.

It goes to show speculations and rumors to trash ‘China’ is bank-able in the West. For our readers in China – this is yet another example of what media should not be.

This is making up news when there really is none. This is taking a swipe at someone for no good reason.

Shame on the U.K. based Daily Mail for starting this nonsense. Shame on the other English language media for repeating this junk.

Both are winning beauties, but only one could win the actual Miss World crown. Bear in mind that, at these sort of events, there are always pre-contest favourites and dark horses.
Miss Norway is a radiant and sensual beauty, but there are many reasons, during the run-up and judging of the finals, that may have caused her to lose that winning edge.
A lot of punters lost their beer money over her exit, and someone had to take the blame. lol.

BUT BUT BUT if USA didnt win… then it was because of the “currency war” fiasco.
Hey, wait… Japan didnt win either… DIAOYU/SENKAKU FIASCO!!! HAHAHA!

On the side note, Ms. Macau has a really nice photo (didnt see her live in the competition though.. didnt watch it hehe… so no clue if she looks anything close.).
