Typhoon Morakot, which hit Taiwan on August 8th, was the worst natural disaster to hit the island in over 50 years. With the support of the international community the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) hopes to increase the speed and effectiveness of rescue and aid efforts.
The ROC government has set up an account to accept donations from overseas. The account information is as follows:
