As China modernizes, her military will follow suit. I really wish to be still alive when that day China is equal to the U.S. and Russia militarily. I want to see how does China behave then when she has that much might. Would she be a belligerent jerk or a much more benign and just force for good?
I believe you will see that day (assuming you’re not in your nineties) in terms of defense. China might never be able to fight the US in other’s backyard, but I think it’s already quite impossible for anyone to attack the country (except by destroying the planet altogether). I also believe that China will neither be a belligerent jerk (to others) based on national character the longest track record there is (which everyone disregards), nor a just force for (others’) good (it is far too pragmatic for that).
In return for this cute music video from Mister Unknown, I wish to share the following Youtube video on Hangzhou. It was shown at Times Square NYC in October. Amazingly well done. Very creative; strangely moving to me: http://www.youtube.com/embed/1LPbUa-JhkE?rel=0
I have also wrote a little satire on “Apologies” in commemoration of the 69th anniversary of the Cairo Declaration that you might find amusing: http://guo-du.blogspot.hk/2012/12/apologies.html
