Some Thoughts on the Linsanity Surrounding Jeremy Lin

February 21, 2012 by Mr. Allen 55 Comments

Like other Asian Americans, I have been following Linsanity over the last 2 weeks or so with great interest and pride. It's not too often you see a twice-cut bench warmer become a starter and take a professional team in New York by storm like Jeremy Lin (林書豪) has. While the future of Lin as a mega star is not necessarily secure, with some saying that Lin is a phenom only … [Read more...] about Some Thoughts on the Linsanity Surrounding Jeremy Lin

U.S. Media Preparing Americans for Invasion of Iran

February 20, 2012 by YinYang 7 Comments

February 18, 2012 by melektaus 33 Comments

Not too long ago, James Fallows, a writer and editor for the Atlantic wrote a piece about Jeremy Lin. In that article he claimed that his fellow Atlantic writer Bob Wright's claim that Lin's success is somehow partly due to him being Asian as "horseshit." I really don't want to harp on either of the articles main points but Fallows seems to have made one glaring error in regard … [Read more...] about The kind of trash we’re dealing with

February 16, 2012 by YinYang 48 Comments

This Op-Ed just published at the NYT from venture capitalist, Eric X Li, "Why China’s Political Model Is Superior" is a must read. Especially to the Western audience bought into democracy as a "faith" will find this opinion unsettling. And it is particularly unsettling because the West is full of doubts these days. … [Read more...] about Eric X Li: “Why China’s Political Model Is Superior”
